As part of the RE-ZIP initiative, a key milestone has been reached with the establishment of RE-ZIP hubs in Berlin and Belgium. These hubs will play a pivotal role in streamlining RE-ZIP’s circular packaging system, offering dedicated locations where reusable packaging is collected, sorted, quality-checked, and stored. The RE-ZIP Hubs are created as part of the REZIP_LIFE project, co-funded by the European Union’s LIFE programme.
Although both hubs are part of the same project, their setups differ significantly to serve the unique needs of each location. RajaPack Belgium, responsible for the Benelux region, will initially launch its operations in Belgium before expanding to neighboring Benelux countries. Meanwhile, Labels in Berlin operates with a city-focused logistics model, rolling out exclusively within Berlin.
The two hubs reflect distinct logistical approaches. RajaPack Belgium has integrated a traditional warehouse setup within its existing facilities. In contrast, Labels’ hub in Berlin takes an innovative approach by operating directly from one of their delivery vans. This mobile setup supports city-based logistics and eliminates the need for time-consuming trips to a central warehouse.
The launch of these hubs in Berlin and Belgium represents a significant leap forward, enabling partners to circulate RE-ZIP’s reusable packaging and supporting the shift towards a greener, more sustainable future.
